Kodaikanal is one of the famous hill resorts in Tamil Nadu, which is situated amidst the Palani Hills. It is situated at an altitude of 2100 mts height covering an area of 21 sq kms. Kodaikanal is well known for the Kurinji flower which last bloomed in the year 2004, it is one of the unique flowering plant which is considered to be nature’s gift to Kodaikanal. Kodaikanal is popularly called as the ‘Princess of the Hill Stations’. The cool climate, the scenic beauty of Kodaikanal attracts the tourist. This hill town is also known for the educational institutions of international reputation.
Places of Interest:
The Shenbaganur Museum:
This museum is named after A.Anglade who was earlier one of the students who took up the task of studying about the flora and fauna in the plains. The museum is has a vast collection of birds, butterflies, reptiles and also mammals.
Kodai Lake:
The Kodai Lake is a man made lake which is one of the famous tourist destination in Kodaikanal. It is a place where one can get involved boating. A walk along the lake helps you to explore the natural beauty at the Bryant’s Park.
The lake is considered to be the cool heart of Kodaikanal.
Pillar Rocks:
These 400 feet tall rocks are located 7 kms from Kodaikanal city. They are actually rocks which stand together. This is one of the major tourist spot in Kodaikanal. One can get the best view of sunset and the glittering Kodai city from this point.

Coaker’s Walk:
It is parallel to the lake and it got its name from Lt. Coaker. A walk here offers the magnificent view of the valley. Along the road a visit to the telescope house which offers the beautiful view of the Kodai city and the valley.
Kurinji Andavar Temple:
It is a small temple which is dedicated to Lord Muruga. The temple is located few kms away from the lake. The temple is modeled around the traditional pallava temple.
Bryant Park:
This beautiful botanical garden is located near the lake, it was landscaped by a British army officer by name Glenn Bryant. Wide variety of flowers is grown in this park.
