It is one of the famous hill stations in Kerala. It is considered to be the gateway to the hills. Munnar is located at the Idukki district of Kerala. The cool climate, the breathtaking greenery, the natural scenic beauty and the calmness attracts a large number of people to visit Munnar. Munnar is a confluence of three rivers which are Madurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. One can get the never ending view of the tea plantation at Munnar and is one of the commercial centers with the world’s best tea estates. Munnar was earlier the summer resorts of the British Government in South India. Even the highest peak – the Anaimudi Peak is also located here.

Anaimudi Peak
It is the highest peak in South India, which is one of the major tourist attractions in Munnar. It is the best place for trekking with a height of 2600 mts. The view of the nature from this point is said to be everlasting.
Echo Point:
It is situated 15 kms from Munnar. It got its name from the natural echo phenomena at this place. The scenic beauty at this place is beautiful. It is one of the tourist places in Munnar.
Power House Waterfalls:
It is situated 18 kms from Munnar. The 2000 mts high waterfalls with the steep rock with the western mountain ranges on the way to Thekkady from Munnar is called as the Power House Waterfalls area. It is considered to be an ideal break on the way to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.

Observatory Hills:
It got its name due to the fact that one can spot the planets and the other celestial bodies from this point and hence got the name as Observatory hills. The clear sky and the cool climate attracts the tourist to make is one of the famous destinations in Munnar.
Rajamala:
It is the natural habitat for the wild animals in Nilgiri Tahr. It is a best place for one to relax and refresh oneself. It is situated approximately 15 kms from Munnar.
