Jaipur popularly known as the Pink City, situated in Rajasthan, India. It got its name from its founder Prince Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. It is considered as the first planned city of the country as it is designed as per the Hindu treatise, shilpa shastra and is laid down with great precious. It is also home of excellent handicrafts and is specially known for the exquisite gold jewellery enameled, blue pottery, carving on wood, stone and ivory, block print, handmade paper, miniature painting and so on.
Places of Interest:
Hawa Mahal: One of the most recognizable monuments of Jaipur which was built by Maharaja Sawai Paratap, in 1799. The 5 storied building is a fine piece of Rajput architecture.
Jantar Mantar: It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Huge masonry instruments were used to study the movement of constellations and stars in the sky.
Dolls Museum: A collection of beautiful dolls from all over the world is situated inside the Seth Anand Lal Poddar Deaf and Dumb School on Jawaharlal Nehru Marg.
Amber: The fort is remarkable as much for the majestic grandeur which displays a fine blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture. The palace complex is lavishly ornamented and displays the riches of Amber. Sheesh Mahal is a chamber of Mirrors.
Rani Ka Bagh: It is sitated on the Agra road, it was built by Maharaja Swai Jai Singh II in 1710 for his queen.
Maharani Ki Chhatri: The funeral place for the royal ladies, marked by some wonderfully carved cenotaphs on the way to Jaipur-Amber.
Amar Jawan Jyoti: A tribute to the martyrs of Rajasthan who have died fighting for the country is done here.

Birla Temple: It is known for the intricate white marble carvings, popularly known as Laxmi Narayana Temple.
Sanganer: The centre of hand block printed textile and handmade paper. It also has historical ruins and Jain temples.
City Palace and SMS II Museum: It is situated at the heart of the old city and is a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture.
Ishwar Lat: Swar SUli or Heaven piercing minaret, the tower, near Tripolia gate, built by Raja Ishwari Singh. Offers a breathtaking view of the city.
Jala Mahal: On the way to Amber, this small palace is set in the middle of Man Sagar Lake.
Kanak Vrindavan: The newly restored temple and garden, near Jal Mahal, has beautiful gardens and is a popular picnic place.
Jaigarh Fort: The world’s biggest cannon on wheels – the Jai Ban is positioned here, built during reign of Maharaja Sawai Jaisingh.

Vidyadhar Garden: It was built by Vidyadhar Bhattacharya, this beautiful terraced garden has several galleries and pavilions decorated with exquisite murals, depicting Lord Krishna.
Birla Planetarium: It offers a unique audio-visual education about stars and entertainment with its modern computerized projection system.
